Romy Fröhlich

Expert in organisational & corporate communications and gender aspects

Romy Fröhlich is Full Professor for communication science at LMU Munich. She is specialized in International Corporate Communications, Crisis Communication, PR in the Post-Factual Era and Feminization of PR. PR and corporate communications are facing major challenges: Due to technical developments, almost everyone can actively participate in the production of public discourse. This leads to a loss of importance of professional media?s gatekeeper function. Also, the institutional elites are losing their monopoly on interpretations of controversially discussed issues and conflicts. The post-factual era is a result of those developments. Internationalization and globalization are further trends demanding a fundamental re-think of PR and corporate communications. Against this backdrop and on the basis of her own research, Romy Fröhlich assists corporations and institutions to arrange their communication for the future. Moreover, she has a particularly strong commitment to providing information on the amazing feminization of PR and to explaining the potential of this trend as well as its specific challenges for organizational structures, cultures and individual actors. As an internationally active scientist, she is perfectly acquainted with intercultural communication skills and has profound knowledge on media- and journalism systems worldwide.
